Roofing Products and Partners

A roof is only as good as the materials that go into it and the installation that puts them there. At Riley Hays, we are selective about the products we use, and we are certified to install the ones that matter most for our customers' warranty coverage. Here is what we work with and why.

Malarkey Roofing Products

Malarkey is our primary residential shingle manufacturer, and we are a certified installer. That certification is not decorative. It means we have completed Malarkey's training program, meet their installation standards, and our customers qualify for the full manufacturer's warranty — not a reduced version that applies to non-certified installs.

Malarkey's product line includes impact-resistant shingles that carry a Class 4 rating, the highest available. In Arkansas, where the hail season runs from late winter through early summer, that matters. Some insurance carriers also offer premium reductions for properties with qualifying impact-resistant shingles. We can talk through that during your estimate.

CertainTeed

CertainTeed is one of the most established shingle manufacturers in North America, with a product range that spans entry-level three-tab shingles to premium designer systems. We work with CertainTeed across our residential shingle roofing installations when the product profile and warranty fit the project requirements.

GAF

GAF is the largest roofing manufacturer in North America and produces a broad range of residential shingle systems including their Timberline series, which carries a lifetime limited warranty. We work with GAF products across residential applications where they are the right match for the project.

Polyglass

Polyglass produces commercial roofing membranes and underlayment systems that we use in flat and low-slope commercial applications. Their self-adhered underlayment products are particularly well suited to the high-temperature and UV conditions that Arkansas commercial roofs face. Learn more about our TPO roofing services.

Mule-Hide Products

Mule-Hide is a manufacturer of commercial roofing systems including TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen membranes. We work with Mule-Hide on commercial projects where their product specifications match the building and the application.

LBP

LBP is a specialty products manufacturer whose materials we use across select commercial applications. Their product range complements the broader commercial systems we install.

Why Certified Installation Matters

The warranty on a roofing product is only as good as the installation behind it. Most manufacturers require certified installation as a condition of their full warranty coverage. An identical shingle installed by a non-certified contractor may carry a reduced warranty or none at all.

Riley Hays is a Malarkey-certified installer. When we put a Malarkey product on your roof, the warranty is valid. We install to manufacturer specifications on every job, which is what protects our customers' investment in the long run.

If you have questions about which product is the right fit for your property, call 501-747-1400 or use our contact form. We will walk through the options and give you a clear answer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does it matter which products a roofer uses?
Material quality affects how long your roof performs and how it holds up to the conditions specific to your climate. In Arkansas, hail resistance and UV performance are the primary material considerations. We specify products that address those factors rather than defaulting to whatever is cheapest.
What is a Malarkey certified installer?
A contractor who has completed Malarkey's training and meets their standards for installation quality. Certification means the full manufacturer's warranty applies to your roof. Without it, the warranty may be reduced or void depending on the product.
Can I choose my own shingle product?
Yes. We are happy to work with your preferred product if it is within the range of what we install. During the estimate we will explain the options available at your price point and let you make the call with the full picture in front of you.
